Episode 40 "Chubby Checker - Let's Check Out the WEIRDEST Station Wagon EVER MADE! 1965 Checker Marathon V8
Why did this car look like a TAXI and cost as much as a CADILLAC?! In their Season 4 debut, Chase Classic Motors looks into the history of the Checker Motor Corporation and their iconic passenger cars. This small Michigan automaker grew out of the rough and dangerous world of the big city cab business and its 1920s mob connections to become the gold standard in taxi cabs: cars with rugged construction and iconic looks. But did you know that Checker also produced family cars and luxury wagons for the growing suburban market? Now the boys will explore the remarkable history of a very special station wagon: Eric's 1965 Marathon A12W that was ordered with nearly every available option for the L.A. Auto Show that year! This wagon has factory air conditioning, fancy wheels, two-tone paint, tinted glass, a trailer towing package, heavy-duty brakes, and the high-output 327ci Chevrolet small-block V8 pumping out over 250hp! At a time when most Checker cars were stripped down 6-cylinder taxi cabs featured in TV shows "TAXI" and films like "Taxi Driver", Checker's 1960s SUPER WAGON was a break from boring tradition and a groovy step up to exciting world of California cruising with surf, sun, and fun! Eric recounts the story of this remarkable piece of automotive nostalgia and a true American original as Ross digs into the history that made Checker cars forgotten and forsaken even when they were new. In their mission to serve and protect great cars, perhaps no car was truly more deserving of a survival story and it's one you simply won't believe!

In their Season 3 Finale, Chase Classic Motors explores the history and legacy of America's most celebrated and legendary police car: the Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 Police Package... the Bowtie with a Badge! Built from 1977-1996, Chevrolet's full-size Impala and Caprice police cruiser began as a downsized and utilitarian workhorse. Although unable to compete with its rivals from Chrysler and Ford in the power and performance categories as a rookie, it gradually got better, sleeker, and faster. Eventually, despite its controversial restyling in the 90s, the Caprice 9C1 rose through the ranks to become the fastest and most capable four-door police car of all-time by 1996! However, just as the Caprice 9C1 achieved its legendary status, GM execs pulled the plug and left police officers and fleet managers across the USA in mourning for their beloved V8-powered behemoth. Yet 30 years after its last patrol, this simple and stately GM sedan continues to fascinate fans across the world to this day. To find out what happened to America's favorite enforcement machine and why their popular 1990 Caprice 9C1 is suffering from a no-start failure, Ross and Eric roll up their sleeves to investigate the legend up close. S3Ep8 “Corvette Bummer” - Let’s Dive into a 1980 Corvette (C3) to See What Went Wrong!
Chase Classic Motors is weighing anchor and diving deep into America's most popular sports car with a nautical name: the Chevrolet Corvette! With nearly 75 years of history as the USA's first purpose-built sports car, the Corvette has lasted through 8-generations as an automobile designed strictly for fun and to be the most aspirational and cherished of GM's performance cars. Yet despite its fascinating heritage, the 3rd-generation Corvette (the C3) remains the black sheep of this legendary family. When it debuted in 1968, the C3 "Shark" had several industry-firsts for an American car. It cut an unmistakably sleek and aquatic profile, boasted incredible V8 power, and featured a long list of accolades and track-bred skills to match. The C3 is also the best-selling Corvette of any generation before or since and it was immortalized in popular culture as America's dream machine. Yet today, the Corvette C3 is lost in a sea of more coveted classics... the question is WHY? To find out what went wrong, the boys will dive into their customer's triple black 1980 'Vette to uncover why it is acting so slow and sluggish. As they work their way through the engine trouble, they will also look at the history of the Corvette from 1953 - 1982; and look into the car's lineage and evolution of design. Perhaps only then will they be able to uncover the truth behind this intrepid little warship that triumphed in the moment; but would ultimately sink under the weight of its own success!

S3Ep7 Imperial March - Let's Learn How Chrysler's Imperial EFI Works! We Bought This One for $500!!
It's time for answers... it's time for fun... it's time for IMPERIAL! The 1981 Imperial by Chrysler was supposed to summon the return of a premium American luxury brand. Instead, it humiliated the company! Now Chase Classic Motors brings you the hard facts and sets to find out why this famous flop happened. How did a car this expensive, this technologically advanced, and this good looking manage to embarrass not only its celebrity CEO Lee Iacocca, but also the Chairman of the Board himself, one Mr. Frank Sinatra? Truth is stranger than fiction when the boys uncover an original 1981 Imperial for just $500! Now they have a chance to learn all about the car that doomed Chrysler's company fortunes and why it courts controversy among Mopar fans to this very day. They will show you all the research that went into learning how the notorious "constant-flow" fuel-injection system actually works. Then we'll see if they can make the V8 SING just like "Ol' Blue Eyes" himself. It's time for this Imperial to run again!
